USI was founded as a land surveying company and specializes in topographic, route control, and ALTA/ACSM surveys from small to complex infrastructure projects. Utilizing the latest robotic total stations, digital levels, and GPS technology, we ensure our survey data is acquired in a precise, accurate, and timely manner. After field data collection, it is sent for in-house review, processing, and QA/QC by our office staff.
All of USI’s internal survey personnel possess the expertise in the latest CAD, GPS post processing, and least squares analysis software. Project research, calculations, layout, and analysis pertinent to the legal locations of property boundaries, road centerlines, and right-of-ways are performed with strict attention to detail and consistent with Indiana Law (Title 865 I.A.C.).
>> Route Surveys
Topographic surveying for roads, bridges, sewers, shopping centers, recreational facilities and other civil engineering-related projects utilizing robotic total stations and RTK (Real Time Kinematic) GPS via both the INCORS (INDOT Continually Operating Reference System) and Trimble VRS NOW RTK Networks, allowing USI to efficiently use a one person crew for most tasks on any given project. Using digital terrain modeling software, we analyze all data and develop a strategic informational plan. USI uses both AutoCAD Civil3D and Bentley Power Inroads for Microstation, giving us the flexibility to deliver our product in a variety of formats and platforms.
>> GPS Surveys
Project control for aerial photogrammetry, mobile and aerial LIDAR, and conventional survey of any project using state-of-the-art GPS receivers. All receivers are dual frequency (static or RTK) units with on-the-fly tracking and differential measuring capabilities. USI analyzes all survey data and converts the information to any coordinate system designated by the client (i.e. state plane coordinates and/or ground coordinates) utilizing the latest processing software.
>> Legal Surveys
Plats, property descriptions, and surveys for industrial and commercial land transfers. USI completes American Land Title Association (ALTA) land title surveys using robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
