Bridge Project Manager

USI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, energetic Bridge Project Manager. The qualified applicant will provide bridge engineering design experience and will be an organized individual who is ready to step into a project management position. We expect the applicant to be a competent engineer who is ready for the next step in his/her career. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for structural design, transportation and geometric roadway design, plan development, public presentation, specification writing, drainage calculations, quantity calculations, cost estimating, utility coordination, permitting, technical report writing, and assisting in bridge inspections (regular and special inspections).

  • Work within a team environment to develop, manage, and design Bridge projects for state and local clients. The candidate will lead and manage the financial, scheduling, and technical aspects of the project.
  • Efficiently and clearly be able to communicate project status items to the Bridge Team and clients.
  • Supervise all aspects of project development, including proposal development, environmental permitting, and utility coordination.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new talent and contribute to a positive company culture.

 

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSCE) in Civil Engineering
  • Ability to get Indiana Professional Engineer License within 4 years
  • Indiana Professional Engineer Licensure or ability to obtain one
  • Working knowledge of INDOT Design Manual standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • 4-8 years of professional work experience in Bridge design including: structural design of highway bridges, hydraulic design, utility coordination, and roadway design
  • Have working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Strong sense of organization
  • Experience in Bridge Inspection
  • Basic experience in programming, macros, or task automation

Roadway Engineer – Project Manager

USI has an opening for a Road Engineer / Project Manager. The Roadway/Transportation Team at USI is actively seeking a creative, highly-talented Roadway Design Engineer for our Indianapolis Headquarters. The qualified applicant will provide demonstrated roadway engineering design and offer a motivated team player to our existing team. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • The qualified candidate would work within a team environment to develop, manage, and design roadway/transportation projects for state and local clients.
  • Work with the Transportation Department and be responsible for conducting conceptual design and final design of roadway projects.
  • Efficiently and clearly be able to communicate project status items to the Roadway Department Director and transportation clients; continuing to maintain and build relationships throughout every phase of the design process.
  • Must be able to lead and manage the financial, scheduling, and technical aspects for roadway design projects.
  • Provide efficient and practical roadway design; ensuring profitability and meeting client schedules through innovation and fresh ideas.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (BSCE) in Civil Engineering – Transportation Major
  • Ability to get Indiana Professional Engineer License within 4 years
  • knowledge of Autocad – Civil 3D
  • knowledge of AASHTO Design Standards
  • proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with the public

Preferred:

  • 4+ Years’ professional work experience in transportation design including: hydraulic design, utility coordination, intersection improvement, and roundabout design experience
  • Working knowledge of INDOT Standards, Specifications, and Procedures
  • Experience in working with Local Public Agencies (LPAs)

AutoCAD Technician / Detailer for Road Design

USI is looking for an entry-level, full-time, AutoCAD technician/detailer for the development of state and local bridge and road engineering drawings and plans. The qualified candidate will be detail-oriented, quick-learning, and eager to join the world of road design! Additional responsibilities will include assisting with quantity computations and other plan preparation details.

Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:

  • AutoCAD or similar drafting program experience

 

Preferred:

  • Civil 3D experience, including the manipulation of terrain models from field surveys and road design elements.
  • Candidate should be familiar with Microsoft Excel.

Survey Department Assistant Manager

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop Location Control Route Survey Plats, ALTA Surveys, and Topographic Surveys
  • Collaborate with field personnel to QA/QC the Field to Finish Product

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Preference given to applicant with 2+ years’ experience in route surveying
  • Indiana Registered Land Surveyor or a Surveyor-in-Training
  • Experience with Autocad Civil 3D and GPS Processing Software
  • Experience with Microstation is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Topographic Survey Technician

  • Download and process field data
  • Develop CAD drawings of Location Control Route Survey Plats, ALTA Surveys, and Topographic Surveys for INDOT and local governments

Desired Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Be able to perform trigonometry and geometry survey computations
  • Prefer experience with INDOT procedures and Location Control Route Survey Plats
  • Prefer experience with Autocad Civil 3D and GPS Processing Software
  • Experience with Microstation is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e. Word, Excel) is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
