Madison CR 300E
Madison County Road 300E Roadway Reconstruction
The reconstruction of Madison CR 300 E is the culmination of over 5 years of effort for Madison County Officials, in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Transportation to reconstruct this north/ south corridor between US 36 and CR 600 S.
The development of the roadway project started in 2010 and involved, new roadway design due to the current narrow roadway and inability for large vehicular travel loads. Also incorporated in the project was Madison County Bridge #173 rehabilitation, widening the current structure, new Bridge #172 construction and grade raise, adding paved roadway shoulders, and correcting all steep side slopes and erosion issues.
Now at completion, CR 300 E provides a full two-lane roadway (2 -11’ lanes with 4’ paved shoulders, mailbox approaches, guardrail, curb, pavement markings, and signs) between CR 600 S and US 36. The new roadway now provides area drainage improvements, storm sewer systems, bridge replacement and rehabilitation, and provides a new safe corridor for local travelers.
